Visiting DESY & XFEL in Hamburg

DESY/XFEL Hamburg In the beginning of April, Polyteknik visited DESY and XFEL for a tour and a talk about future projects and cooperation. We were introduced to the 3.4 kilometre long XFEL, the world’s most powerful x-ray generating laser. The XFEL facility is used by researchers from all over the world and generates extremely intense x-ray flashes, which will allow scientists to film chemical reactions and study the processes in the interior of planets, among other exciting things.
